What are some good options for a wedding reception a year later we were married in a courthouse?
I hate to burst your bubble, but what you are trying to do is not only distasteful, but ridiculous. Do not wait a year later for a wedding reception. If you had to wait, you should have expected a period of one month of the event. Not a year. It's like being shouted aloud: "We want the gifts." The closest you can do is have a "First Anniversary Party," and then invite your friends. But gifts do not ask, do not have a bridal registry. That would be terrible. No one has even first birthday party well, but it would be more socially acceptable, a reception out of date. You riduculed if you try to muddle through, believe me.
